Spaces and rights
Feature on video · Length 0:38
The first question in every privacy review is: who sees this? Personnel files and salary data do not belong to everyone, product handbooks and templates do. Both live in the same system, and the answer to that in skai is called a space.
The space as a container
A space is the organisational unit work happens in: with its own knowledge sources, its own experts, chatbots, processes and workflows, its own meeting notes and its own members. Every source, every expert, every workflow belongs to exactly one space.
Spaces form a tree: a space can contain sub-spaces, which in turn can contain their own. A space type – formerly private, shared or public – no longer exists; visibility follows from membership and rights alone.
Membership and administration rights
Being a member of a space is at the same time the right to use its content. Anyone who may administer something on top of that – sources, experts, chatbots, workflows or the structure – is granted that right individually per member.
That maps the most common case cleanly: many people may use a body of knowledge, few may change it.
Cascading inwards, released outwards
Membership and rights cascade inwards: whoever is a member of a space or holds a right there automatically holds it in every sub-space below – never in a parent or sibling space. A sub-space can have additional members of its own.
The same boundary applies outwards: the chatbot on your website answers only from what has explicitly been released to it. Chat threads are an exception – they do not belong to a space.

The first question in every privacy review is always the same: who sees this?
-
Because not every piece of knowledge belongs to everyone. Personnel files do not, salary data does not.
-
In skai everything lives in spaces. A source, an expert, a chatbot, a workflow belongs to exactly one of them.
-
Being a member of a space is the right to use it. Whoever may administer it gets that granted separately.
-
Rights pass down into the sub-spaces, never upwards. And to the outside, only what has been released gets answered.
