Security and hosting

Feature on video · Length 0:40

Before a company rolls out an AI platform, two people have to be convinced: IT management and the data protection officer. Their questions are always the same – where is the data, who has access to it, who owns the vendor. The video answers them in order, this page spells the answers out.

You decide where it runs

There are two operating models. In the cloud skai runs in German data centres without you keeping server infrastructure of your own – the fastest way into operation. On-premises the same platform runs entirely in your own environment, if your policies require it.

The feature set is the same in both cases. And in both models skai connects your existing sources: files, websites, Confluence, OneDrive or SharePoint. Teams keep working without switching systems.

The certificates are held by the hosting provider

Cloud operation runs in German data centres of our hosting provider IONOS: certified to ISO 27001 on the basis of IT-Grundschutz and attested under BSI C5. IONOS holds those certificates, verifiable at cloud.ionos.de/zertifikate.

That distinction matters enough to say it out loud: these are the certifications of the data centre operator, not our own. We discuss our own certifications and the data processing agreement in a meeting, because both look different for every company.

Access, traceability, origin

Who sees which content is governed by roles and access rights. Private and open areas of knowledge are separated, departments maintain their own content and see only what is meant for them. The external chatbot answers exclusively from what has explicitly been released to it, and every answer can be traced back to the underlying document through source references.

Behind skai stands CodeFabrik GmbH, an owner-managed company from Germany without a foreign parent group; your data is subject to German and European law. We go through open questions directly with your IT management and your data protection officers.
